Italian Tour July / August 2005

After our tour of Italy in February, which brought us many discomforts (mainly because of the sub zero temperatures!), we were a little apprehensive to say the least, about doing another 17 date run. However, early on a Thursday morning we found ourselves on the way to Stansted airport, driven by our part time body guard Pete, to catch our flight to Rome airport.

We are met in Rome by the big boss Stefano, and a man known only as Stinky. They have a van which is a bit 'experienced', but full of beer and food so soon we're off to a place called Trasimino, where we are playing the following night. We won't bore you with gig by gig reviews (can't remember anyway...), suffice to say that all the gigs were good, the weather was very good (all but a couple of days where we had serious storms which lead to two gigs being pulled) and that we had a very, very nice time. We can certainly recommend Pescara beach, if not Stinky's cooking - that's him with the beard. Only joking mate!

Next, we traveled through Italy, Austria and Czech by train and then by hire car through Germany to the last gig, which was in Lindow - very east Germany, almost in Poland. This was a festival in a small football stadium and it proved to be the best show of the tour. We even managed to get to the tiny, ex military airport on time next day, where bizarrely, we found ourselves traveling home with Napalm Death! Wot Larks!,. .
